Day 25

BREAKFAST - Quiche
Egg - $0.16
Bread - $0.11
Ham - $0.10

TOTAL: $0.47


I bought a big baguette from Target (remember the best Turkey sandwich I ever had on day 16).  When I cut the thing into 4 sub-like sandwich servings, I pulled the middle out to be able to stuff it real good and ... for a moment like this!!  (That part is better if you know the Kelly Clarkson song).  Anyway, I decided to make a savory baked french toast of sorts or maybe you could call it a reverse crust quiche?  What you do is you take some bread and break it up, pour over your scrambled eggs and anything else you wanna put in there (ham, spinach, onions, sausage, you get the idea) and then you bake it at 350 for like 45 minutes or whenever the eggs are cooked through.  So easy and rewarding!

DINNER - Chicken w/Asparagus, Cauliflower, & Smashed Potatoes
Chicken - $4.26 (whole @ $0.99lb)

SUBTOTAL: $8.23 fed 7
TOTAL: $1.18
Dinner on the go is never fun, so I decided to plan ahead.  Between work, picking up the kids, dropping one off at Ballet, another off at Karate, picking one up from Ballet, coordinating with our sitter, and then picking up the kid I dropped off earlier at Karate... I still managed to make dinner for 7 people.  I'm not telling you this to show off, I'm telling you this to inspire you to plan.  No matter how busy you are, you can make a great meal for cheap!
Most of the time I just get overwhelmed with how much I have to get done and then pay the price twice... fast food.  Yuck, expensive and bad!
I'm sure your High School Counselor told you the same thing I was told, "If you fail to plan you better plan on failing".  Tis so true!  Making a plan is crucial!  We all eat everyday, why do we go through life without a meal plan? We think today is going to be the MAGICAL day where we will be SOOOO productive and eat nothing.  Make a Plan!
